Mostar Sevdah Reunion (MSR) celebrates its 25th anniversary with the release of their new album “Bosa Mara,” showcasing a blend of revived traditional sevdalinkas and diverse global influences.
Over the years, MSR has gained international recognition for preserving and popularizing Bosnian sevdah music, with their previous album “Lady Sings the Balkan Blues” earning prestigious awards. “Bosa Mara” continues this legacy by incorporating collaborations with artists from various cultures like Spanish flamenco singer Pedro El Granaíno and Muntu Valdo from Cameroon reaffirming MSR’s role as cultural ambassadors.
Their contributions to music have elevated sevdalinka to global prominence, with hopes of its inclusion in UNESCO’s cultural heritage list.
